Best Laid Plans
We are incredibly pleased to announce the release of AccountEdge Mobile for Canada. Approved by Apple and available for download from the iTunes App Store. Truth be told, pleased is probably not the right word. Relieved may be better. Canadian taxes proved trickier than anticipated and taxes aren’t something you can afford to get mostly right. Then the release of iOS5 complicated matters. But thanks to the tireless efforts of the AEM team, AEM is in your hands now. We appreciate everyone’s patience.
What excites us most is that we can now move on to our list of AEM enhancements. The fun stuff. We’ve received great feedback (through our forum) from the thousands of users who are actively using AEM. Thanks.
We’ve been in software development long enough to know not to add dates to any of these, but we think transparency is important. Our priorities:
Expenses without a Card - enter an expense on your iOS device without assigning it to a Card, just use the ‘payee’ field.
Delete - any transactions (pre or post sync, without affecting AE desktop…) or delete lines of a transaction while in entry mode.
New UI on the iPhone - doubling back to fix some UI areas when entering sales on the iPhone vs the iPad.
Invoice numbering - more flexibility in creating sales transaction numbers.
Open A/R - when you go to a customer’s site, you should be able to view their outstanding balance on your phone, and maybe even apply a payment.
New Jobs and Items - be able to add new Jobs and Items on your device.
Credit Card Processing - process credit card transactions (swipe or manually entered) on your iPhone/iPad.
Lots of little things - we’ll spend the next few months cleaning up a number of odds and ends that we’ve flagged along the way. Some you may notice, some you may not.
As always, keep the feedback coming. We’re listening.
