What's this 1099-K and how does this affect...
If you receive funds via a credit card, debit card or online payment providers (e.g. PayPal), you’ll most likely be receiving a 1099-K form this year. The IRS is looking to collect from those who may not have reported all appropriate payments, especially those through PayPal. Merchant account providers and sites like PayPal will be sending the new Form 1099-K to their merchants. How...

Best Laid Plans
We are incredibly pleased to announce the release of AccountEdge Mobile for Canada. Approved by Apple and available for download from the iTunes App Store. Truth be told, pleased is probably not the right word. Relieved may be better. Canadian taxes proved trickier than anticipated and taxes aren’t something you can afford to get mostly right. Then the release of iOS5 complicated matters....

Big news from Amsterdam
Our friends and partners at Sofa have been acquired by Facebook.  Yes, that Facebook. It seems Facebook recognizes world-class design when they see it.  The Sofa team will be relocating to Silicon Valley in the coming months and working at Facebook HQ full-time.  We couldn’t be happier for them and we wish them nothing but continued success in their new endeavor. So what of Checkout and Enstore?...

Obviously, you're not a golfer
Every year, we’re dragged away from our desks and to Rockaway Lanes for some sweet bowling action - strikes, spares, gutter balls, what-have-you. The goal: to do some company bonding while chucking bowling balls. Our Tech Support team cleaned house. James schooled us all with a final score of 203, Tom finished up with a Brat/Five-bagger/Yahtzee (or 5 strikes in a row) and a final score of...

Time Tracker's out of beta (yay)
We have a written company rule to stay away from exclamation points, but take it from me, we are excited to announce that Time Tracker is officially out of beta. To sort of bend the rules, just imagine every period you see in this post is an exclamation point. We’d like to thank all of our beta testers that have been working with us to smooth out the kinks since last February… We...

Progress Billing AccountEdge 2011 introduces support for Progress Billing. Think of progress billing as a way to create a quote and billing it out in phases or over time. For example a construction project where we’ll invoice out 10% now, 50% half way and 40% upon completion. We allow for different ways to break it down (percent, quantity, dollar amounts…). Shortcuts
Mike W came into my office yesterday with a question from a customer. They wanted to know if there was a list of all of the shortcut keys.
